Document the barrier
JusticeSA can collect reports of failed fingerprint, facial-recognition and biometric-only processes, including whether a reasonable alternative was available.
Ask for an equivalent alternative
The campaign can advocate for secure non-biometric routes that do not impose unnecessary travel, cost or delay on people whose biometrics cannot be captured reliably.
Demonstrate a solution
AstruVerify provides a working proof-of-concept showing how trusted providers can return citizen-approved identity facts without AstruVerify becoming a biometric database.
JusticeSA can publish aggregate AstruVerify evidence without receiving identity records.
The public feed contains only aggregate TEST counts. It suppresses all figures until at least 25 requests exist.
Do not weaken identity security. Make identity security inclusive.
Biometrics can remain one verification option. The campaign asks for a secure and reasonably equivalent route when a biometric system cannot reliably recognise a person.
